GARAGE DOOR'S
Garage doors only sound easy. There are many different options. To make things simple, install an insulated roll up door, at the very least. Do not install your garage door until the end of the project. Too often they become damaged, and then it becomes a direct cost to you. Do not forget to have your garage wired for an electric garage door opener while the electrical contractor is doing his rough. If the garage allows it, I use an 18 feet wide door by 8 feet high. When I have a three car garage I make the second door a 9 foot wide door and 8 feet high. Not all garages will accommodate these larger doors, but they sure are nice when they do. Lately I have become accustomed to using a Clopay 4300 series and I have been very satisfied with it. Its insulated and has metal on both sides of the door. The overall quality of the door has been well worth the extra money for myself and my customers. There are places where you can spend money wisely, and there are also places where you can spend money wastefully. I believe in an excellent garage door and also the upgraded garage door openers. Garage doors are a lot like windows. The installers are paramount. If you have a sloppy installation job, it does not make any difference what kind of door you use. The quality of Tarnow's installation process has been by far superior to anyone else I have used in the past few years. |
