If you are really interested in building a Custom Home or remodeling this entire site is for you.  If you are looking for individual items of information than just go around in any manner you choose.

This site has been set up to look at the home page first and to read through it. The items on the left are set up in an orderly process from the top down.  This information is to be used to try and understand the construction business from a builders point of view.  There are many valuable ideas:

EXAMPLE:

  1. First you figure out your Finances.

  2. Than you need to decide how big a house you desire and call someone like me to get an estimated square footage price.  You will need to decide before hand if you want an architecturally designed custom built home with packages which include: excellent windows/special designs/granite counter tops/extra high basement walls/designer cabinets/ etc. v.s. subdivision built houses by the mass producing building companies.  We estimate a ranch at $10 to $15 more a sq. ft. than a colonial.  Figure a master bedroom house on the 1st floor around $10 more a sq. ft.

  3. Now you know how much $ you can spend on a lot.

  4. Find a reasonably priced architect or designer.

  5. At this point if you are contracting with a builder you would normally do a contract.

  6. You plot plan the home to set on your lot.

  7.  Apply for permits.

  8. Start building your new home.
