Lot Prep
Property preparation can be extremely difficult if you do not have a flat piece of land. When you have terrain which is difficult or trees which hinder the visual understanding of your property, you have increased risk of making poor decisions laying out your home on the property. The two pictures above give you an idea what can be done with purely flat piece of land. In the past when we were just beginning we would make sure we had an excellent bull dozer company who understood grade and property layouts. If we had a walk-out basement situation we always tried to make sure the walk-out would be at the right drop off to build the home without over budgeting the building process. Lot prep in many cases is a matter of experience.
